Her effective way of communicating and customizing her instruction to meet your individual needs is very successful. The subject of vocal training is sometimes too technical and scientifically approached, but Kathy’s method is refreshing, fun and exciting, and often surprisingly easy. Many students find they can sing a full octave higher in the first lesson! You won’t just learn songs; you’ll learn how to set your voice free! Kathy’s vocal exercises and warm-ups give you the tools to learn to do this for yourself. As a versatile vocal stylist herself, Kathy will also coach you in the singing style of your choice: everything from Country to Jazz/R&B, Pop, and Broadway/Classical.

Kathy’s studio is located on the St. Louis Metro East side in Belleville, Illinois, only 20 minutes from downtown St. Louis.
Vocal instruction sessions are established in the following format:
Children: 30 minutes of instruction per weekly session.
A commitment of at least one month is required to begin and the purchase of The Kids Learn to Sing instructional book with the practice vocal exercise CD is also required.Teens: 45 minutes of instruction per weekly session.
A commitment of at least one month is required to begin, and the purchase of the practice vocal exercise CD is required. The Kids Learn to Sing instructional book is optional but recommended.Adults: 45 minutes to 1-hour sessions.
A commitment of at least one month is required to begin.
Purchase of the practice vocal exercise CD is required.Lessons by phone: Discuss your vocal technique problems areas or struggles and receive helpful instruction on the phone. Preset appointments by email are required. The fee for the required length of the call will be prepaid, and Kathy will call you at the appointment time.
Video performance analysis and feed back: Send Kathy a video of your performance, whether formal or just recorded in your home, and she will give you her professional advice and instruction concerning your vocal technique, style, or stage presence, targeting the areas you want help in.

Kids Learn to Sing Workshops
Kathy also conducts workshops for children’s choirs at churches, home-school groups, and schools. These workshops are a fun and easy way to teach children the fundamentals of good singing. This is the “kid-friendliest” music class you’ll ever experience.
The workshops utilize Kathy’s book Kids Learn to Sing. Colorful visual illustrations and wacky object lessons, her hilarious puppet team, games, costumes and more make for an exciting educational experience.
The Kids Learn to Sing book and CD are included and go home with you and your kids so that they can practice and master the skills.
These workshops are done for groups of 10 students or more. They can be set up as a 6-week series of 1-hour sessions and a concert to follow. Another option is a one time, 2-hour session with a break.
